FEATURING

Marcella Fiorillo, Concert Pianist will be performing during the evening. Marcela was born in Buenos Aires and has recently performed in February 2005 and 2006, at the International Multicultural Canberra Festival as well as the ANU Ibero-American Cultural Festival, Canberra, Australia, at the Llewellyn Hall, ANU School of Music, sharing the stage with Prof. Geoffrey Lancaster and Larry Sitsky. Marcela made her debut in New York in the year 2000, playing a series of concerts devoted to Argentinean Music at Queens, Queensborough, and New York City University as well as in the city of Washington.

In 2001, 2002 She performed at the “Fetes Musicales de Savoie” and “Musique sans Frontier’s” Festivals, France, divulging the music of her country. In 1999 she toured China, lecturing and performing solo and with the Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra; as well as giving master classes on Argentinean Music at the Shanghai and Beijing Conservatories. In 1997 she performed at Chieti International Festival of Music, Italy.

Developing an intense activity as pianist and teacher in her country, Marcela Fiorillo has played in the main concert halls of Argentina: Colón Theatre, Belgrano Auditorium, Recoleta Cultural Center, San Martín Theatre and others.

A graduate from Conservatorio Nacional de Música “Carlos López Buchardo”, She is now teacher at the Superior Conservatory of Music “Manuel de Falla”, in Buenos Aires, where she presently holds the Chair of the Piano Department at Anexo II. In 1994 she participated at the Fifth Congress of the International Association for Semiotics Studies, Berkeley University, USA, as the only Latin American member in Music Semiotics.
